| I think this plant is wild sarsparilla. I live in northern Wisconsin and we have it here. The leaves are reddish like this in spring and then go greener later. At some point, a flower stalk will grow up from the bottom and a roundish, spiky flower blossoms. After the flower, berries appear. |
