This is in response to the gentleman who said he believed that the forearms are the worst possible place to have Poison Oak; wrong! I contracted Poison Oak last week while out in the woods of Northern California. I am 44 years old and have never had Poison anything before as I am usually very cognisant of poisonous plants. On this trip I had an urgant call from mother nature and while relieving myself, realized that I was squatting in Poison Oak! I quickly drove to a remote area with a small stream, striped down and rinsed with the cold mountain water. 2 days later I broke out with the most horrible rash accompanyed by intense itching. My testicles swelled up to the size of a grapefruit and the rash wrapped around the inside of my legs to my lower buttoxs. I am now in 5th day (7 days from inital exposure and the scourge has gone systemic. I have bought 3 tubes of Zanfel at $32.00 a pop. It seems to relieve the itch for awhile but it always returns. However, !the grainyness of the Zanfel feels great on my rashes. I followup the Zanfel treatment with a soak in my hot tub, two Benedryl tablets and then use medicated powder on the area. Two - three hours later I take a couple of aspirin which really helps to relieve the swelling of my testicles. I pray to God that this affliction be lifted from me soon.
