I'd like to add to this advice of Jim's. The Academy of Dermatologists recommend that you see the doctor if the rash is on the face, private areas, or on more than 30% of the body. As Jim indicated, this can be a very serious situation. Likely you will be given a prescription for steroids as well as recommendations for over the counter solutions to control the itch. A couple of important pointers here - several medical doctors (I can give you references if you'd like) have pointed out that if the course of steroids is not long enough (the number varies but ranges from 14 to 21 days) you could end up with a rebound rash worse than the first rash. Second - don't scratch that itch as that can make matters worse (including possible infection and a larger rash). Third - dont' stress (I know easier said than done) as that too can promote issues with the rash. Good luck!
