Theoretically you should not experience PI symptoms without reexposure to the antigen. In the most true form PI is an allergic reaction. Once the body goes through the process of the reaction, all should calm down. THat makes me wonder if you are you having recontact with the plant in anyway. Don't forget about Mango's too, they cause the same reaction.
