Hi Jill -

The answer actually depends. If you are on medication such as a corticosteroid (like prednisone), there is a chance that you will be more sensitive to the sun. There was another thread which you can find here: Hives? Predisone, Heat, Sun, P Oak. This person seems to have gotten hives while out in the sun.

Now for other people, the sun is a fun way to help dry up the rash. It shouldn't make it worse unless the rash is covered in some way (such as a fold in the skin, towels, etc) and can't "breath".
