Hi all -

No poison ivy does not have thorns or bristles. There may be very fine hairs under the leaflets and along the stems but this is very tiny and silky. Nothing like a thorn or bristle. There are some brambles which look very much like poison ivy. A good field guide can help you in positive identification. I use a number of them as not all guides have all plants listed.
