With regards to spreading your PI through open skin, that is exactly what happened to me the last time around. I have been batteling this bout of PI for about two months. My allergist suspects that at one point the open sores allowed the PI to enter my system, and therefore it becomes a systemic condition which is more difficult to treat and you will find it spreading to areas that you are certain, could not have come in contact with the PI. In any case, if you do not see your case improving I would suggest that you see an allergist or a doctor who can prescribe medicaion such as Prednisone to help combat the systemic reaction.
