My daughter is 4 years old and after a week of doctors appointments and ER visits, it was finally determined today that she has poison ivy. I do not know where she got it from and I can't afford to throw out all of her shoes, bike, clothes and toys that she has worn or been outside with the week before!

Help! What can I use to wash her belongings with to remove the oil?

I don't know if she is having a allergic reaction or just keeps re-exposing herself because the oils are on her belongings. HELLLLLLLP!!!!

On Monday night she said her hand was itching and I noticed a blistery rash so I undressed her to see if it was anywhere else on her. That is when I found a tick on her chest. I called the doctor and she said to bring her in the next day.

Tuesday the doctor said the rash looked like an allergic reaction and had nothing in common with the tick.

Wednesday the rash spread, but not much.

Thursday, the rash was much worse and spreading so I took her back to the doctor. She tested positive for strep and was placed on antibiotics. The doc said that it didn't look like a typical strep rash, but could just be an odd strand of it.

Friday, rash worsed in the evening.

Saturday, rash spread to right half of face and eye was swollen. I took her to the ER and they gave her an IV of stronger antibiotics thinking it was a reaction to the tick. They sent her home and said to see the doc on call Sunday morning at her ped's office.

Sunday (today), the rash was about 10x's worse than the day before and she could barely open her right eye. The doctor took one look and said, "That is without a doubt poison ivy!" She gave me some suggestions on ways to relieve the itch and prescribe a steroid since it was so severe on her face.

Now I am I praying she doesn't have lyme disease!!
