My mom used to soak rags in a mixture of lysol and water. Dried the poison ivy up and took away the itch rather quickly. But to this day I cannot stand the smell of Lysol. jAlso, if your lucky enough to be near the ocean - the salt water takes away the itch. Almost over my last bout of PI - using hydrocortison cream and a gel product similar to Rhuligel.
