I was exposed to poison ivy or oak, and I feel comfortable putting the clothes I wore when I was exposed into the washer with detergent as a means of decontamination. My question is that I have a pair of steel toed boots (not leather) that I wore that day, and I'm concerned that they might have the oil on them. I'm wondering what the best way to decontaminate them is. I think they are too heavy for the washing machine. Any suggestions? Thanks.
