All those wondering if they got a posion ivy-like rash from mangoes???? Yes, you can get it from mangoes. I have a home in Fort Lauderdale with a giant old mango tree...at the tip of the branch that connects the mango to the tree....is where sap oozes from....this sap can be very allergic to some people and can cause an irritating rash like poison ivy. Benadryl cream helps...and some Dermatologists recommend Claritin. Don't rub it on other parts of your body or scratch it because that will only make it spread worse. It takes about 3 weeks to go away.
