Over three weeks and two urgent-care doctor visits later, the overt symptoms of poison ivy have virtually disappeared from the various parts of my body. I believe that I have cleansed the clothing and easily washed personal items that were with me on the camping trip on which I came into contact with the poison ivy plant. My question is: what can a person do with a tent or other porous materials that can't be simply "wiped" or washed clean? I really don't want to use my tent, backpack, sleeping-mat...etc. until I am confident that any possible contamination has been eradicated. Any methods or options?
