went to the hospital 3wks ago for the same yellowish watery seeping stuff. they gave me an antibiotic ointment & oral antibiotics & told me to keep it covered... well it closed up but looked grayish blue under the skin ( I didnt know it was PI ) then it area started to tingle a wk later & itch again so I use hot water with shower sprayer & it reopened. I thought not a good thing. but it started the leaking & my neighbor told me he had PI, I showed him my leg & he was sure I had it too. Said not to cover it, let it drain. wash it gently with cool water 4-5 times a day. he is not a doctor just an 85yr old man that has had PI a few times in his life. after the draining stops than use the burts bees soap or some OT cream to help with the itching between washings. My neighbor also said after the draining has stop to soap up & leave the soap on the area to air dry so that it will stop the spread, this has helped me.hope it helps you. we are not doctors. just itchy
