Tracy sounds to me like you did the same thing i did and transfered the oil from your hands to your eyes by rubbing them, I can say that i get poison ivy at least twice a year with all the time i spend outside, usually on my arms or legs. 3 days ago i came in contact with a tree limb in the middle of the road which had falllen from a recent storm here in upstate ny, no leaves just the vine. anyway i have been using fels naptha in combination to burts bees wax poison ivy soap from the fist moment i knew i had it, this has helped alot to dry the rash out today it has started to oozee but is still a tru test of willpower. I have also been taking a product called oral ivy about every 2 hours sometimes alittle sooner, this seems to help alot with the itching and burning but i can tell when it wears off. read about it on their web page just search for oral ivy. I also understand taken regularly it will help most people build an immunity to the uresol or oil from the plant. this is the best way i know of to let it take its course and not mask the symptoms. Hope this was helpful anyone with advise please share as i believe this is a growing problem every year!! remember there doesnt have to be greenery to get the oil on your skin stay AWAY even if you think you are immune most people will lose there immunity at some point in there life, research the plant and its relatives i know now i should never have touched that branch!!!!!!!! happy oozing
