He came in contact with the oil somehow. He could have been exposed to it before he started jumping on that trampoline.
Think about some of the other places he may have been to. It could have been on his shoes and laces, he takes them off with his hands and gets it.
Could have gotten it from a door handle that someone left the oils on...
There are so many ways of getting it that have to be considered.
Your daughter go lucky and did not get exposed or she has a better tolerance to it.
