The prednisone and Benadryl provided some relief. There is a bar soap called Fels-Naptha either in bath soap, or laundry isle. It removes the oil on skin and on clothes from the Ivy. It really helps to dry up the poison ivy as well. Just wash with it a few times a day, and cut off a small piece and put it in the laundry with any clothes contaminated by the poison ivy. Good luck!
