I've been killing poison ivy here in Michigan professionally for about 6 years (Poison Ivy Control of Michigan) and have yet to come upon poison oak. Poison sumac is in some wetland areas and poison ivy is everywhere. For the most part, poison oak is found west of the rocky mountains.
