Question Asked: I am wicked allergic to p.i. I noticed the backyard fence has a new vine this year and took 2 photos of the same and a small shoot which is starting about 5 feet west of it. Is this the evil weed?

Answer: Sean - when you see this, contact me using the feedback form link at the bottom of the page as I have a few questions (be sure to leave your email address). My initial reaction is that this is not poison ivy. BUT I do have some reservations here. On the picture of the new sprout, the leaves are easier to make out and show some characteristics not of poison ivy. On the other 2 pictures those differences are not so clear. What I see is a coarsely serrate leaf (sharply toothed) in the 2 main pictures. Most poison ivy I've seen is variably toothed (if at all).

So I'm sitting on the fence (ha!ha! ok - at least not on a fence with poison ivy) as the detail is difficult in these pictures. Anyone else?
