Submitted by:  Denise Nolta Date Submitted: 6/29/2003 Location: central Iowa Question Asked: I found this plant growing up out of a pasture of long grass and also along the edge of a grove of trees growing as stand alone plants. The pictures were taken of the plants growing in the grass. The images include only the pasture grass and the plants in question. Answer: Hi Denise - Thanks for sending along pictures of poison ivy in your "neck of the woods" (central Iowa). I find it interesting to see how poison ivy varies regionally. It is not unusual to find poison ivy growing up and standing amongst other plants such as the tall grass.
